Durante su reciente estancia en M\u00e9xico, tuvimos el honor de recibir al Dr. Rafael Castillo Negrete, destacado investigador del Institut de la Vision en Par\u00eds, Francia. En su visita, imparti\u00f3 una conferencia magistral sobre su trabajo de vanguardia, el cual present\u00f3 previamente en el principal congreso mundial de neurociencias celebrado en Chicago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El tema central de su exposici\u00f3n fue la estimulaci\u00f3n de una sola neurona y su impacto en las redes neuronales adyacentes, utilizando un microscopio de 2 fotones desarrollado en su laboratorio. Este tipo de investigaci\u00f3n es pionera y solo puede realizarse en cuatro laboratorios en el mundo. El Dr. Castillo Negrete trabaja en un entorno interdisciplinario junto a f\u00edsicos, ingenieros y otros especialistas, aportando su experiencia en biolog\u00eda para el avance del conocimiento en neurociencias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A la conferencia asistieron investigadores de la UP y del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n y de Estudios Avanzados (CINVESTAV) del IPN, adem\u00e1s de directivos de nuestra instituci\u00f3n. Posteriormente, compartimos una comida con el Dr. Castillo Negrete y su pareja, Eloise, tambi\u00e9n investigadora en el campo de las neurociencias, fortaleciendo as\u00ed los lazos de colaboraci\u00f3n y amistad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un aspecto especialmente relevante de esta visita fue la disposici\u00f3n del Dr. Castillo Negrete para que nuestros alumni puedan realizar estancias de investigaci\u00f3n en su laboratorio en Par\u00eds, una oportunidad invaluable para continuar fortaleciendo la internacionalizaci\u00f3n y el impacto acad\u00e9mico de la UP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
